The Scale Doesn’t Tell the Whole Story

The scale doesn't tell all

What have you seen?

It’s Motivation Friday to help you through the weekend and today I am covering how the scale doesn’t tell you everything, and this is especially important the day after Valentine’s Day, because, let’s face it, we are more critical of our bodies that day than any other…and I’m talking about the women out there (at least I hope I am…)

The Medifast Diet is focused on weight loss – what the scale says. It is our measurement of success. “How much weight have you lost?” is a common question in any social circle. When I was losing weight pretty aggressively while using Medifast and working out, I heard this question all the time. There were weeks when I only lost a pound and that was frustrating. So I began looking for other “signs” of success to keep me motivated.

Loss of Muffin Tops – Both males and females alike want these gone – long gone! Of course, as we are still in the dead of winter, it doesn’t matter much right now, but Spring and Summer are just around the corner and that means shorts and swimsuits. Take it from me, you can lose 20 pounds, but if you still have the “muffin tops” hanging over your bikini bottom, it takes away from all the hard work you put in all winter long.

Doing More Reps – Let’s have an honest discussion: Muscle weights more than fat. End of discussion. You can stay the same weight, yet look tremendously better because you are adding lean muscle to your body. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying be a gym-rat, that is the furthest from my mind, but getting toned is a really good thing and sometimes just 20 minutes a day can get you there.
